Phase II will add 444 reduction cells using the cutting-edge DX+ reduction cell technology. Phase II implementation will boost production to approximately 1.3 million metric tonnes by 2014 and will establish EMAL as one of the largest single-site smelters in the world. Materials receiving and verification of materials being delivered. Supervising load/unloading of material on site and at warehouse. Coordinating with Rigging Manager regarding safe-offloading procedures and monthly Rigging equipment inspections. Coordinating daily equipment and manpower requirements with our on-site General contractor (Target). Coordinate deliveries/issuing materials with various Area Managers on site. Responsible for coordinating deliveries directly to Pot room A&B eg. Pot shells, Buss bar, Grating, Removable slabs. Creating, issuing, and authorizing of Gate-releases coordinated with Security on site. Coordinating with Safety-Department and Contractors on site during the deliveries of abnormal size deliveries e.g. Pot shells, Gantry Cranes, Transformers etc. Coordinating directly with Trucking company to coordinate and plan deliveries from the directly from the Port to site. Enforcing SNC-Lavalin?s commitment to Safety by making sure all work is done in a safe manner.

Coordinated with the Procurement/Expediting team in Montreal regarding departure dates of various shipments exported to site via Air and Sea freight. Utilized and proficient in PM+ Project Management system. SNC-Lavalin's Project Management system. Liaised with the clearing company in Liberia with regards to Import Permits and Clearing procedures by Customs. Personally coordinated several Ship arrivals at Buchanan Port and directly liaised with the following Departments; National Ports authority, Security at Port, Customs officials, Stevedores, etc. In these deliveries there were coordination with the Area Managers and the Client as the Port was still under construction. Materials verification and Inspection of deliveries on site. Materials issuing to various contractors. Coordination with Rail Manager regarding deliveries to Nimba (opencast mine) by Rail +/- 260 km away. Shortage/Damage Reports Took over the management of the Warehouse at Nimba Mine on the behalf of the client.

This Project consisted of re-furbishment of 2 separate sites. Luilu- Electro winning and KTC-Ball Mill and Refinery. Responsible for the complete set-up of a warehouse including procedures for material receiving and issuing and lay down area management on both separate sites. Coordinated directly with the government officials i.e., Congolese Customs, National Police during the numerous Airfreight deliveries into Kolwezi Airport. Liaised with the customs officials and clearing agents for all the Road freight transported from South Africa Re-ordering and procurement was coordinated from the Warehouse Department. I was responsible for the Export documentation and coordination of various equipment to go to South-Africa for refurbishment. e.g. Motors, Transformers etc.

Client was BHP-Billiton, Bayside Smelter Khuleka was the primary on site Scaffolding Contractor on site . All scaffolding erections on site was done by Khuleka-scaffolding Managing and coordinating with various contractors including the Client (BHP-Billiton). Day to day work-force issues e.g. Leave, pay, training scheduling, Transport coordination etc. Preparing of Invoices for payment. Daily Production reporting to Office management. Presented several Safety Presentations during Contractors safety meetings.
