Identifies training needs of the organization with respect to safety through job analysis and frequent consultation with managers and human resources department. Designs and expands training programs based on both organizations and individual needs and monitors improvement overtime. Develops effective induction program. Manages the delivery of training. Monitors and reviews the progress of trainees through questionnaires, periodic audit and discussion with managers. Ensures that training requirements are met. Evaluates training and development programs. Amends and revises training programs as necessary to adapt to the changes occurring in the work environment. Helps managers in solving training problems. Keeps up to date with developments in training and safety standards. Researches for new methods in workplace training. Familiarizes all applicable laws and regulations with regards to safety. Reviews and implements updated applicable laws and regulations. Inspects all aspects to ensure that the organization is complying with each regulation. Develops internal procedures for complying applicable laws and regulations. Informs organization with discrepancies found and providing corrective measures to fix the discrepancies. Provides time frame for implementing compliance. Provides report to management of problems/ discrepancies found during inspection. Creates an audit schedule to ensure laws and regulations are followed throughout the organization. Coordinates with government institution regarding law or regulation issues. Coordinates with organization?s concerned personnel experts in the field of safety health and environment. Coordinates with SHE department concerning implementation and monitoring of governmental compliance. Maintains and updates records relevant to the compliance of the organization. Helps promote OHS awareness. Complies with the proper operating procedures of safety and health standards and regulations. Adheres to Policies/Procedure, Employee Code of Ethics and Conduct, and Corporate Governance. Protects intellectual property, company proprietary and confidential information. Performs other functions as needed.

Participate in planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily workplan. Review the Incident Action Plan for safety implications. Exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts. Circulate material received from EH&S to appropriated members of the department. Inspect the department to ensure the workplace meets the various safety requirements. Ensure that monthly inspection of Fire Extinguishers, Exit Lights and Emergency Lighting, are carried out. Respond to reports of unsafe conditions (e.g. Electrical hazards, loose stair treads, etc.) by requesting repairs or maintenance. In some circumstances, material may have to be prepared for annual submission to the Repairs and Alterations budget. Follow up on any deficiencies noted during inspections, and ensure that they are corrected. Notify EH& of critical accidents, unsafe conditions or work refusals. Ensure all staff receive the information with respect to fire safety, chemical safety, Biohazard safety and First Aid training.
