Career Goals
I am a very experienced (+ 32 years) senior Human Resources Manager of all HR facets in various industries. Due to operational reasons at my recent employer, I am looking for new opportunities to share my experience and assist an organization to not only manage the human capital side and accompanying risks of a business better but also to create a more skilled and sustainable workforce through growth, employee engagement and HR strategies to increase profitability and productivity. Until 31 December 2013 I was employed as General Manager Human Resources for Merensky Timber with a staff compliment of + 3550 employees plus numerous contractors.
I enjoy the challenge of starting new projects, implementing need specific strategies and best practice HR interventions to maximise & retain human capital. I have assisted numerous companies and sme?s over the years in establishing HR and SHE management systems that support their strategic needs & requirements and finding ways to work smarter not harder!
I have extensive knowledge of all applicable employment legislation and have extensive experience in dispute resolution as I represented and assisted various employers and individuals in various industries in disciplinary cases, trade union negotiations, handling of grievances, and conflict resolution at CCMA & various Bargaining councils throughout the years.
I have always been people orientated, and am passionate about Human Resources. I have managed and lead various HR teams (last team consisted of 27 members). It?s also important for me to be seen by line management as a strategic business partner that adds value with a pro-active approach & on time service delivery. I have a reputation with customers, colleagues and union representatives alike as being highly professional, a good communicator, facilitator, initiator, change agent and risk taker. My focus is on problem resolution without compromising integrity or organizational culture. My attached cv is further testimony of 3 promotions within my 4 years of employment with the HMH Group.
I am also a dedicated, and dynamic individual that strongly believe that I can not only make a big contribution in developing innovative, best practices people solutions in managing your Human Resources function to be in line with ?world class? organizations, but also make a positive impact on profitability and productivity by growing and engaging your employees, making your business a preferred employer in Southern Africa.
