The Marine Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the company vessels are at all times manned with sufficient number of qualified and experienced officers and ratings and that the manning companies abide by the company guidelines when selecting personnel. He shall provide necessary assistance to Marine Manager relative to SMS/OPM & ISPS quality standards.
BUSINBESS PROCESS
Competencies Performance Measure
1. Computer and Business Systems Application ? Evaluate appraisal reports received from the Master and the superintendent and take appropriate actions and monitor/maintain shipboard discipline. Ensure that copies of appraisal reports are forwarded to concerned manning companies for their information
? All marine records shall be documented and properly filed for reference.
2. Monitoring Processing ? Monitoring of all ship statutory certificates and to coordinate with PIC under approval of Marine & Crewing Manager in preparation and arrangement of expiring statutory certificates of all RSOVM managed vessels.
3. Process Improvement ? Formulates ideas for the improvement of processes within and outside work scope.
4. Quality, Safety & Security Standards Consciousness ? Performs work within the standards of the company?s SMS/OPM and ISPS.
? In the event of marine casualty involving personnel, ensure that the appropriate flag authority of the vessel is informed as required by them.
? Participate in evaluating the performance of the manning agents and keep necessary records.
? Check, prepare all pertinent documents for P&I cases and ensure all relevant reports are appropriately prepared and forwarded to concerned parties.
? Ensure that all joining crew has attended / completed the Pre-Boarding Briefing and/or Special Briefing / Training.
