Duties and responsibilities
Attend everyday plant status feedback meeting in the morning and afternoon and provide feedback when needed for any Electrical equipment?s trip.
Process switching: 400V- 11kV isolating and energizing of electrical motors, fire $ gas, electrical heaters etc.
Distribution Switching: 400V-33kV isolating, Energizing and transferring of low voltage and medium voltage switchboards on the incomers to perform maintenance.
Testing and servicing of MV circuit breakers and contactors.
Do Programming, commissioning, installation and maintenance on the LV Variable speed drives (Siemens, ABB ACS 800, Sew, Danfoss).
Perform switching and maintenance on 11KV Siemens robicon variable speed drive
Do maintenance on the cathodic protections (inspections)
Do Fault finding, testing on Motor Starters, D.O.L, PLC, Transformer Starters, Resistance Starters.
Single phase and 3 phase induction motors, testing, installing and carrying motor tests.
Overhauling of induction motors up to 75 KW (Except Ex d motors).
Programming and fault finding of Protection Relays (Simocode DP and PRO-V, Thermal Overload, Sprecher + Schuh, Multilin SR239/ 469 and REF 543F, REM 543M,and RET 521 relays).
Do switching and maintenance on the industrial UPS (manufacturer: Penbro Kelnick, Static power).
Do switching and maintenance on the industrial battery charger (manufacturer: Penbro Kelnick, Static power).
Manage electrical legal requirements documents on Sasol polymers overhead Cranes. Hoist and elevators. To ensure maintenance and inspection are done as stipulated on an Osh act.
Ensure any Electrical equipment installed in the plant comply with area classifications
Earth bonding Tests and earthing systems.
Maintenance on Electrical heaters controllers (AEG thyrotakt)
Development of Asset Management using RCM and FMEA process
Identify Electrical failures in the plant and resolve it. To ensure all Electrical equipment?s are online as needed by Production.
Ensure critical spares are properly identified, verified and justified for stock holding.
Perform Electrical Standby duties after hours
Develop and review Electrical maintenance strategies.
Compile Electrical maintenance reports when plant trips.
Do quality control when new equipment?s install by service provider and ensure is commissioned safely.
Always ensure and maintain quality standards work Sans 0142.
Register and handle Electrical maintenance management of change (MOC) using gate process until the process is completed e.g. Pre- feasibility, conceptual design, hazop, and commissioning.
Do potential deviation analysis (PDA) using Sasol process for Electrical maintenance at Sasol Polymers.
Ensuring Handover and Commissioning projects are done according to Sasol standards.
Ensure Electrical maintenance deviations are corrected after audits.
Use of Sap program interface (time keeping, work notifications and maintenance).
Ensure statutory is done on electrical equipment?s (testing of relays, breakers, transformers etc.)
Verify electrical permit for distribution switching that needs to be perform on the low voltage and high voltage switchboards.
Lead RCA and participate root cause analysis processes.
Act on senior management position as and when required.
Identify plant improvement projects through management of change.
Manage and ensure critical equipment service level agreements are in place and effective with the service provider.
Provide technical input into commercial processes ? vendor list and audits
Prepare Electrical shutdown scope of work.
Attend factory test to ensure Sasol specifications is followed.
