- Balance control and manage the cash float by checking the amount of cash and requesting the restocking or repatriation of cash - Dispense and receive physical cash - Cheques, travellers cheque - Drafts and other financial instruments over the counter to walk in customer - Process and encash cheques presented by customers for deposits or payout after checking identification, account details and other prescribed controls - Refer transactions in excess of teller mandate limits to next level team leader or Branch Manager for authorisation - Capture transactions on the Bank system and ensure that all transactions are properly authorised before finalising the processing - Count cash received or dispensed to ensure that errors avoided - Reconcile own cash at the beginning and end of each day as well as when cash s restocked during the day - Ensure that journals are processed to recover charges for manual transactions processed for customers - Provide advice to customers on the cash and other transaction processes to ensure the smooth flow of transactions - Exhaust attempts to resolve customer enquires before escalating to the other departments or the team leader - Explain the Banks procedures, security requirements as well as services offering available to customers - Report customer complaints on the Bank Customer Care process (CCP) to facilitate feedback to improve service to customers - Guide customers on how to correctly complete transaction documentation - Ensuring accuracy and efficiency when engaging with the customer
