SKY AVIATION LEARNING CENTER, INC. (SALCI) is a training center affiliated to the leading ground handling company, Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions, Inc. (PAGSS). We provide training courses like Basic and Advance Passenger Service Agent Course, Cargo Agent Course, Ramp and Operations Agent Course and Ground Equipment Operators Course. The company was incorporated last 13th October 2008 and was accredited by TESDA the following year. Our vision is to become the benchmark in aviation industry providing training programs based on internationally recognized standards with missions to provide training courses that would link to the career of aspiring individuals who intends to ascertain a career in the aviation industry and to accredit professionals in the academe for the continuous implementation of technical knowledge as a vital source in the design of SALCI aviation related courses.
SALCI?s pioneer project was launched September 2011 with PATTS College of Aeronautics. We have a line up of highly qualified and experienced trainers who are TESDA accredited and we maintain conducive training rooms and facilities. Ms. Janette Cordero as the President heads the Officers and Board of Directors while the Training and Administrative functions of the center are headed by Ms. Aileen Sapina. We expect to be in partnership with leading schools and universities in the Philippines by the end of 2012.
The Birth of SALCI
Triggered by the fast-paced personnel movement of ground staff and the need for an improved Return of Investment on training made us realized the conceptualization of a training center that would sustain the supply of manpower resource in the aviation industry.
With the combined efforts of GlobeGround PAGS-Manila (now PAGSS) Human Resources and Training Department in 2008, these experts started with the documentation process for the accreditation of courses with TESDA. Each training course was drilled down to identify competencies that focus on Passenger Service Agent, Cargo Agent, Ground Equipment Operators and Ramp/Operations Agent. Knowledge, actual work experiences and specific airline requirements anchored the brain power of these experts.
It took a while before we started the full blast operation so as to make sure we have the right market for a long term plan and with SALCI, we are positive that we can make individuals more competitive with the industry.
