Intern, Strategy and Investments

Bank of the Philippine Islands, Private Banking

December 2016 to January 2017

? Analyzed 23 securities (mix of equities and fixed-income instruments) for the bank?s wealthy clients which helped them
decide whether they should hold or sell their securities
? Selected Project Experience:
§ Conducted a comprehensive analysis of Aberdeen Asset Management perpetual bonds; Constructed a credit analysis and default risk analysis of the company. The credit analysis relied on the company?s expected profitability, asset efficiency, coverage ratios, and credit ratings. The default risk analysis relied on a cash-flow analysis and a 5-year debt-maturity schedule. I was able to persuade the Head Strategist regarding the soundness of my conclusion
§ Constructed a CDS Tracker for 150+ fixed-income securities held by the bank?s clients using Bloomberg functions in Microsoft Excel; Resulted in the easier tracking of client holdings? risk changes
§ Analyzed the Credit and Default risk of 10 companies; Prepared daily market reports and updated equity and bond trackers on the financial markets to be used by 50+ Relationship Managers

Summer Analyst, Human Resources

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co

June 2016 to August 2016

? Developed a standardized digital guide for 100+ people managers of the firm to help them transition to their roles
§ Facilitated 5 Focus Group Discussions on managers and interviewed senior leaders such as VPs in Mortgage Banking, Corporate Investment Banking, etc. For the project?s primary input
§ Identified common problems when switching from a specialist role to a managerial role such as the lack of generalist skills, mainly, conflict management, effective communication, etc. And identified structural problems regarding the training itself, such as the classroom-based training style that built up on previous lectures being ineffective in an industry with volatile hiring patterns
§ Turned over the project to the key stakeholders for the project?s implementation; the project is currently being implemented by the company and will directly and indirectly affect more than 250+ people managing 50,000+ employees, since all of the organization?s people managers will benefit from it
