I worked part time for Flying Fish Distribution which was a company that organised the printing and distribution of flyers, catalogues and brochures throughout New Zealand and sold advertising space on A2 and A3 wall planners and on other Flying Fish Catalogues.
I co-ordinated the artwork between client and graphic designer, organizing proofs and changes and ensured all advertisements were created and approved within the deadlines.

February 1996 to November 1999

While home schooling our son, I sold Avon products for 4 years.
I built up my customers first by contacting family and friends, then by leaving Avon catalogues in letter boxes, waiting rooms and lunchrooms of business where I knew one or more people.
I had about 60 customers which kept me in ?pocket money? and left me time to home school.
I enjoyed the people contact, but gave it up as our son got older and home schooling became more intense.

Laundress / Customer Service Person / Charge-hand

Whangarei Hospital Laundry

March 1977 to October 1988

I worked for 6 years as a Laundress in the dry area of the laundry, 4 years in customer services in the uniform distribution area, giving out uniforms to nurses and other hospital staff, measuring staff for uniforms, and maintaining good customer relations.
For 1 year I was Charge-hand of about 20 people, running the dry area, making decisions and problem solving.
I left to start our family.

My first job was at Camera House selling photographic equipment and accessories. I enjoyed the job but I wanted to meet more people my own age, so I left and went to work for the W H Laundry Department.
