I provide weekend respite support for a gentleman with high-care needs, in his home. This hands-on role requires me to have experience with manual handling, respiratory and personal care. In this role I demonstrate the ability to listen to other carers, communicate clearly and effectively, and manage my time well. As a student nurse I was exposed to shift planning, ISBAR handover and a range of other clinical skills.
