Responsibilities:
? Perform his duties and tasks as directed by the chief officer to whom he also reports.
? Leads and supervises deck rating in the following up to maintenance works for which he is responsible to the Chief Officer.
Imposing and maintaining safety consciousness among his crew members.
Maintaining a high work morale and inspiring crew to effective work methods
Cleaning, rust scaling and painting of the vessels hull her decks, masts and superstructure
Cleaning, rust scaling and painting of the various vessels inside/enclosed space
Maintenance of all vessels running gear and mooring / anchoring equipments
Maintenance of safety and life saving equipments when ordered requested
Maintenance and onboard repairs of cargo loading / discharging gear and associated equipments maintenance of tanks/holds, cleaning gear and associated equipments.
? Takes care of the vessels paint stock and paint store room and also vessels chemical stocks
? Keeps cargo watch as directed by the chief officer
? Performs jobs/tasks as directed by the chief officer during cargo tanks/holds cleaning preparation
? Participates in all jobs and tasks in connection with safety of their own vessel, or other/and or persons and/of environment as directed by the person in charge.
? Instruct to Seaman to lubricating and greasing all deck machineries, rollers fairlead as per schedule on regular basis.
