This is a temporary position. In this position my duties included strategically planning and executing alumni associated events, building and maintaining relations with the University?s stakeholders, providing updates for alumni databases and providing content for alumni electronic and print publications, overseeing all internal and external communications to university alumni and university community, overseeing Brand Management of the Alumni Relations Office, implementing production and distribution of publications targeting alumni in liaison with the communications section on the writing, editing and design of the newsletter, and distribution of newsletter.

Career Goals

Being the ambitious person that I am, the most important short term goal that I have in life at the moment is to continually better my efficiency and knowledge in the field of public relations, events, communication and marketing as well as other related fields in order to ensure that I have the skills to be the best at what I do. At the moment I am looking for an entry level or semi-experienced position in an organisation that I can grow with. In the long term, I would like to see myself in a senior position of one of South Africa's successful corporations. I am well experienced and skilled in internal and external communications, database management, social media management/marketing, events (organising and co-ordinating), relationship building, designing booklets/pamphlets etc, amongst others. Personally I would say that over the years I have developed a special passion for communications and events above my other capabilities. I am a person who enjoys socialising very much because I enjoy the company of people and going out. I would say that I am a dedicated and hard working person who always strives to prove and showcase his abilities. I enjoy working in a team but I prefer working independently in an integrative manner with colleauges. I am currently completing my B-tech Degree in Public Relations Management, which will be in effect as of December 2013.

I enjoy listening to music, reading, watching soccer and I am also a movie fanatic. I enjoy being around people, working in a vibrant team and socialising. I am the type of person who always wants to learn and know more than I already do, not necessarily in terms of my career but in general I like to be a knowledgable person so I like to know everything that is happening around me.
