Rhodes Food Group is one of only 3 Deciduous Fruit Canning Facilities left in South Africa. Rhodes currently produces Deciduous Canned fruit and Fruit Puree (& Concentrate) for the export and Local Market as well as Jams and Canned Vegetables for the Local Market.
As the Technical Manager I am responsible for the Quality Assurance Department:
? Final Product Quality, including On-Line Process Control
? Quality Systems & Accreditation of the facility for BRC (efsis), HACCP, SGS & SGF.
? GMP, SOP, SQA and Pest Control Systems.
? Continuous Process Improvement.
? Department Management (Staff, Budget, Training, Reporting on NC?s and Losses)
? Assistance with In-House Training of Staff.

CERES FRUIT PROCESSORS LTD

July 1998 to October 2005

Ceres Fruit Processors, situated in the Ceres valley, are the biggest producer of clear apple and pear juice concentrate in South Africa. They produce close to 13 million litres of apple and pear juice concentrate per year. Of this, 70% are exported to companies like Minute Maid (USA & Canada), Lassonde (Canada), Cadburry (Canada), Meiji (Japan) and Heinz (USA). CFP also produced carrot juice concentrate, fruit puree and concentrated fruit juice blends.
The Production Management and Purchasing Department functions were combined with that of the Technical Manager, rendering the new position in charge of Operations (excluding Finance and Engineering) at CFP. Reporting directly to the MD, the Manager Production was responsible for the following six departments.
