As the Senior Cost Engineer, I was required to develop and maintain a cost reporting system using Excel and Oracle (Costing, Finance Module). It was my duty to set up, develop and maintain the CBS and WBS control of work packages and deliverables. I controlled direct and indirect costs, whilst tracking works and new scope accordingly from labour hours and capital cost. It was necessary for me to assist with the training of non-cost disciplines as and when required for budgetary, cost and change control purposes. In addition to ensuring full project and protocol compliance, I conducted cost risk analysis and management contingency. Tasks included the provision of cost reports to the managers on a monthly basis, and the issuance of monthly client reports. I developed all cost reports ROE, and provided an exception report/narrative for variance analysis and impact to budget and final forecast costs. Project cash flow was managed, and project change notices were raised accordingly. I maintained the change control process and assisted in identifying the cost implications of any proposed changes. My areas of accountability included the review of contractors? and consultants? invoices for actual cost and trending. In terms of Oracle support, I provided training and problem solving. It was my duty to execute cost control for both project wide CAPEX and EPCM costs. Projects during this period included Orapa 3 Plant Value Engineering Phase 1, Orapa Diamond Plant, Bateman Litwin Study, Trimex-Definitive Study, Marampa Iron Ore Expansion, Avocet Mining Engineering Services for Operations in Guinee, Marampa LMC Phase 1 Gravity Circuit, and Marampa Phase 2. Reason for Leaving: End of contract.

Oracle System?s Coordinator

During this period, I was responsible for the development of the new Oracle system. Tasks included the entering of employee data onto HRMS and the creation of Project Accounting. I set up the codes of accounts, and Oracle time and labors modules for project controls. I created new detail reports for project controls, project accounts and finance, whilst liaising with the Project Manager, Cost Engineers, and Drawing Office. It was my duty to create in Oracle a standard Project Temple for WBS & Work Packages. In addition, I travelled to Bateman Companies in India, Australia and the United Kingdom to train all Oracle users and to assist in problem solving.

Within this role, I provided Panorama support for module time sheets, Panorama Projects estimating, and cost engineering. I was responsible for the development of a new Panorama Project management system, where I created module time sheets, new modules planning, estimating, and costing. In addition, I worked on estimating and costing for the Scorpion Project.
